I mailed in my ballot yesterday. I voted for Bob Barr (Libertarian Party) for US President. Did I do this because I know of Barr and really value his leadership potential? No. I did it because by all standards I’m of a Libertarian mindset and I just couldn’t fathom promoting either of the “two parties” given their recent past and current political behavior.
For me, the “two parties” have become like organized religions; built upon the premise of doing good for the people yet evolving into power-hungry, money-grubbing, self-serving Borg-like entities with the battle-cry, “You’re either with us or against us.” Of course the error in my logic is the Libertarian party is yet another party. But, to me, it’s to young, small, etc. to have developed the vices that come with success at the polls. Maybe with the benefit of history, this party can be like the drawers of the American Constitution and implement organizational mandates which can prevent the corruption and lack of government by representation which has taken over the “two parties.”
So sue me.
