I love hearing economists speak instead of reading what the media filter spits out (usually something entirely different from what they say). Fortunately that is not the case with our local newspaper as I discovered with this article.
I’ve been holding off on believing the “all is well” messaging about our economic recovery and feell somewhat validated by the information presented by the economist in the article. There are just too many damaging echos we still haven’t heard yet coming from both the real estate and international economic disasters.
My favorite takeaway is his comment, “If you can find a way to retrain a carpenter to be a nurse, you can solve the national economic problem.”
